Happy International Wāhine/Women+ Day! Today, we celebrate wāhine/women+ strength, resilience, and achievements worldwide – plus a little celebration of our own.
This time last year, Protected&Proud signed an agreement with NZCSRH, Bayer, and Inospire Limited to look at expanding our kaupapa across Aotearoa New Zealand. 202 days later, we launched a national platform connecting thousands of people every month with access to contraception information and local contraception providers. We even had contraception information that is traditionally hidden away, plastered on billboards, radio ads, and digital media across the motu. ⭐
This has only been made possible by an incredibly motivated and collaborative group of wāhine/women working together to make change happen against a lot of odds. The last 365 days have shown what we can achieve when we uplift and empower each other, break barriers, and strive for a more inclusive and equal future. Whilst we still have much more to do, our mission is to enable everyone to take control of their sexual and reproductive health #inspireinclusion.
Whatever it is you have achieved this year, big, small or otherwise, take the time to celebrate each of your own successes and acknowledge those around you that have helped lift you up🙋♀️
